The Live-In Caregiver Program abbreviated as LCP, allows a Canadian citizen to hire a foreign national as a caretaker if no Canadian citizen or permanent resident is available for the job. The Live-In Caregiver Program is not applicable to new applicants. Therefore, you can only go with the hiring of a caregiver through the program if you meet the following conditions:
You must have been approved for a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) showing that the caregiver has accepted to stay in your home; and
You have discovered a caregiver who already has a work permit in this program and is searching for a new employer
Have previous experience working in Canada as a caregiver or a home support worker
Have applied to extend your work permit, have a valid work permit, or have applied to regain your working status in Canada
Have a minimum of one year of full-time work experience since November 30, 2014, which could be cumulative instead of being continuous but cannot add work experience as a student.
Have tested proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening that meets the Canadian Languages Benchmark (CLB) 5 or NLCL (French language) 5 standards.
Have been employed in a position with responsibilities listed for your NOC code.
Have a minimum of a Canadian High School Diploma or an equivalent foreign diploma, credential, or certificate
The Live-In Caregiver Program (LCP) in Canada has been designed for foreign nationals who want to work as a caregiver or nanny in the home for the children of Canadian citizens or someone with disabilities. This would pave the way for a direct path to permanent residence. Foreign nationals can apply for permanent residence only after two years of experience with the LCP work permit.
You must be able to render at least 30 hours of full-time care to:
children under the age of 18
Senior citizens aged 65 or above
Disabled person
You must work and live alone in a private household where he can provide care.
You must meet all CIC and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada requirements.
Comply with all of the LCP program's requirements

Have worked in Canada for at least two years in authorized full-time live-in employment, or
Have operated 3900 hours of authorized full-time live-in employment, which might even include 390 hours of overtime duty, and
The work experience should be obtained within four years of your arrival date
You, your common-law partner or spouse, or any of your family members have a serious medical problem or a criminal record or pose a security risk.
